The world’s oceans and sea ports may be the next frontier for terrorists

Maritime terrorism hasn’t been at the top of global threat watch lists in recent years. Accounting for only three percent of international security threats, it has taken a back seat to more pressing security concerns. That may be changing as terrorists recognize vulnerabilities and develop specialized skills that allow them to attack shipping ports and other maritime infrastructure.
