Real-time weapons scanner: Coming to a security checkpoint near you

A professor from Northeastern University is working hard to pioneer new scanning technology that could replace metal detectors. The new scanner would be able to detect a range of weapons, including guns and bombs, that potential aggressors have hidden on their person. Unlike current scanners, the device would work in real time. It would be deployed at security checkpoints in crowded public places like sports stadiums, music venues, and schools.
